The test
Bring ten questions you already know the answers to. Five on statute, five on decided authority, taken from matters you have actually run. Ask us. Then ask everyone else the same ten.
Ten is enough. The questions must be real ones from your own practice, because a vendor demo is built around the questions the vendor chose.
What to check on every answer
- **Was it right?** Against the answer you already knew, not against how confident it sounded.
- **Did it cite a source?** An answer with no authority is an opinion.
- **Does the citation open to the actual provision?** Click it. A citation that does not resolve to the text it claims is worse than no citation, and it is the single most common way these systems fail.
- **Did it say “I don’t know” when it should have?** Ask something Ugandan law does not answer, or that falls in a gap we have published. A system that never declines is a system that will invent an authority eventually.
Eliminate any system that fabricates an authority. Not mark it down — eliminate it. A tool that produces a citation that does not exist cannot be supervised into safety, because the failure looks exactly like a correct answer.
Where we expect to fail it
So that you can aim the test properly, and so you can tell whether we knew our own limits:
- Constitutional Court authority — not ingested. We should decline these, and if we answer one confidently, that is a finding.
- Court of Appeal authority — partial coverage, so a genuine authority may simply not be found.
- Anything enacted or amended after 31 December 2023 — our legislation follows the 7th Revised Edition to that date.
- Foreign law — English, New York or any non-Ugandan question. We are not built for it and should not attempt it.
The coverage page states all of this in more detail, with dates.
Run it with us
Open a free account and run the ten questions yourself — nothing is gated behind a sales conversation. Or send them to us and we will run them in front of you and answer for whatever comes back.
Either way there is no minimum term and no seat floor to clear first, which is precisely why we can invite this. Questions to contact@practocore.com.
