The whole firm’s work in one system.
PractoCore holds a Ugandan firm’s litigation matters, non-litigation engagements, court dates, statutory obligations, documents and team in one place. You can run it through forms or by plain instruction. It is built in Uganda and priced in Ugandan Shillings.
Your firm’s work is spread across a dozen places.
A typical firm keeps documents in Google Drive or Dropbox and court dates in a diary and a Google Calendar. Cases are read across a wall of ULII tabs, drafts live in Word, and tasks go out by phone call and WhatsApp. The lawyer holds the connections between all of it in their head, and each manual join is where a file gets mislabelled, a detail gets entered twice, or a date depends on one person remembering it.
What the firm keeps in one place.
Litigation matters
Parties, court file numbers, documents and a schedule derived under Ugandan procedure. Each date shows the rule it came from for you to confirm, and an adjournment recalculates the dates that depend on it.
Non-litigation engagements
Incorporations, name changes, tax filings, regulatory work and advisory retainers, run by stage and milestone. Litigation-only tools have nowhere to put this half of a practice.
Statutory obligations
Recurring statutory and regulatory obligations have their own schedule and reminders, kept apart from court deadlines.
Documents scoped to the matter
Each document sits in nested folders under the matter, engagement or folder it belongs to, and only members of that matter can open it. Scanned PDFs are made searchable.
Team and supervision
Roles, invitations, per-matter membership and assigned tasks. Counsel see the work they are on and nothing else.
Reminders that escalate
Automatic and manual reminders go out by email, SMS and push to the matter’s whole team, with escalation and acknowledgement.
Moving the firm across.
- 01
Start with the matters on your desk
Open a matter with the form, or upload a pleading and answer two questions. The derived dates appear for you to confirm.
- 02
Bring the documents with them
Upload each document into the vault under the matter or engagement it belongs to, so files from different matters stay apart.
- 03
Invite the team
Add partners, associates and administrators with the roles and matter memberships the firm already works by.
- 04
Connect what you already use
Attach matters to their ECCMIS cases and hearings and status changes arrive on the matter. The Word and Outlook add-ins are in early access.
Built for a Ugandan firm.
The procedure came first
PractoCore began as a deadline engine for Ugandan litigation, handling court days, public holidays and rules that branch and cascade. The practice system was built on top of it before the assistant existed.
Works with the systems you file in
It reads the court record from ECCMIS, though filing stays with you, and produces editable Word documents in your house style.
Operable by instruction
You can run any part of the system through forms or by plain instruction to the built-in assistant. Changes it proposes wait for your approval.
“Is it only for litigation?”
No. Non-litigation engagements (incorporations, tax filings, regulatory work, retainers) and recurring statutory obligations sit in the same system as litigation matters, with the same documents, team and reminders.
“We use Google Drive, a diary and WhatsApp. Is moving across a large project?”
No. You can start with the matters on your desk and bring each one’s documents with it, rather than moving everything at once. You can open a matter from a pleading you upload, and the dates are derived for you to confirm.
“Does it work with ECCMIS?”
Yes, read-only. You attach a matter to its ECCMIS case, and hearings and status changes from the court’s system reach the matter. Filing stays in ECCMIS. Filed documents, fee notices and appeal-window computation are newer and marked Beta.
“Who in the firm can see what?”
Access is role-based and membership is set per matter and per engagement, so counsel see the work they are on and nothing else. Each firm’s data is isolated from every other firm’s.
“What does it cost?”
Pricing is quoted for each firm. It is per seat in Ugandan Shillings, billed monthly or annually and payable by mobile money, with no seat minimum and no multi-year commitment. Every firm starts with 30 days free, with every feature and no card. Ask us for a quote and we will put it in writing.
“Which devices does it run on?”
The web, Windows, macOS (Apple silicon and Intel), Linux and Android. There is no iOS app.
