Your case file and the court’s saying the same thing.
PractoCore reads your matters from ECCMIS, the Judiciary’s own case management system, so hearings, case status, filed documents and fee notices land on the matter in your diary. It reads the court record; it does not file on your behalf.
ECCMIS holds the court’s record. The diary holds a copy, kept by hand.
The Judiciary set 1 July 2026 for the end of paper-based court process, which makes ECCMIS the record of where a case stands. Today a hearing date, a status change or a fee notice reaches the firm’s diary only when someone checks the portal and copies it across. PractoCore integrates with ECCMIS, so those changes surface on the matter, in the system the firm already works in.
What comes across, and what does not.
Hearings land in the diary
Hearing dates from ECCMIS appear on the matter and in the shared calendar, alongside the deadlines the engine derived.
Status changes reach you
When the case status moves on the court’s system, the matter’s team is notified rather than finding out at the next check.
Filed documents and fee notices
BetaDocuments on the court record and assessed fees are pulled through and attached to the matter.
Appeal windows counted from the court record
BetaThe date the court recorded starts the clock, so the appeal window is computed from the record rather than from a note in the file.
You attach the case; we never guess
A PractoCore matter is linked to an ECCMIS case by you. The sync never invents a matter from a court record it found.
It reads. It does not file.
Nothing is submitted to the court through PractoCore. Filing stays in ECCMIS, in your hands. We say so here so nobody discovers it mid-evaluation.
From the court’s system to your matter.
- 01
Attach the matter to its ECCMIS case
One deliberate link per matter, made by a member of your firm. Unattached matters are never touched by the sync.
- 02
PractoCore checks the court record
Attached matters are polled on a schedule; what has changed since the last check is what gets brought across.
- 03
Changes arrive as notifications
A new hearing, a status change or a fee notice reaches the matter’s team where they already work: in-app, by email and on their phone.
- 04
Dependent dates recompute
A hearing that moves is an adjournment, so every deadline that hung off it recalculates, with the original kept as history.
The one thing no global platform has.
An international platform cannot do this
ECCMIS is a Ugandan system. A vendor serving thirty jurisdictions has no reason to build for it, and no local presence to maintain it when it changes.
It is where the record actually lives
With paper-based process ending, the court’s system is the case history. A practice system that cannot read it is working from a copy.
Wired to the deadline engine
A court date pulled from ECCMIS moves the deadlines that depend on it, in the same system.
“Is this the ECCMIS portal?”
No. ECCMIS is the Uganda Judiciary’s own electronic case management system, where filing and service happen. PractoCore is a separate practice system for law firms: once you attach a matter to its ECCMIS case, it reads that case’s record into your matter and diary.
“Can I file through PractoCore?”
No. The sync is read-only: hearings, status, documents on the record and fee notices come to you. Filing is done in ECCMIS. We would rather state that here than let you find it out in an evaluation.
“Will it create matters from the court record automatically?”
No, and that is deliberate. You attach a PractoCore matter to its ECCMIS case yourself. Auto-creation would fill your workspace with matters nobody chose to open.
“What is Beta here and what is live?”
Hearing and status sync is the mature part. Filed documents, fee notices and appeal-window computation are newer and marked Beta: built and working, with less mileage behind them. Ask us what a firm your size should expect today.
“What if ECCMIS changes?”
We are in Kampala and the sync is ours to maintain. A change to the court’s system is a fix we make, not a ticket in a queue set in another country.
Works with the rest of PractoCore.
Let the court’s record reach your diary.
Attach your first matter to its ECCMIS case and see hearings, status and fee notices arrive where the work happens.
