Terms of Use

Last updated 24 August 2026

These terms govern use of the PractoCore platform — the web application, the desktop and mobile apps, and the Microsoft Word and Outlook add-ins. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

The agreement

These terms form an agreement between you and PractoCore Technologies Limited of Kiswa, Zone 2, Nakawa Division, Kampala, Uganda, a company incorporated in Uganda, which operates PractoCore. Where you use PractoCore through a firm, the firm holds the account and these terms bind both the firm and each member using it. If your firm has signed a separate written agreement with us, that agreement prevails over these terms to the extent of any conflict.

Who may use PractoCore

PractoCore is intended for legal practitioners, law firms and in-house legal teams, and for the staff who support them. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything done under your account.

Your content stays yours

You keep all rights in the matters, documents and other material you put into PractoCore. You grant us only the licence we need to host, process, index, transmit and display that material in order to run the service for you, and to make backups of it. We claim no ownership of it and we do not use it to train AI models.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for meeting your own professional obligations of confidentiality to your clients.

AI output is a draft, not advice

PractoCore includes an AI assistant that drafts documents, summarises material, and answers questions about legislation and case law. This is the most important term in this document:

  • The assistant produces drafts and suggestions. It does not give legal advice and it does not create a lawyer–client relationship with us.
  • Generated text can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, and it can misdescribe an authority. Every citation the assistant gives you links to the underlying source. Read the source.
  • You remain the lawyer. You are professionally responsible for anything you file, send or advise on, whether or not PractoCore helped you produce it.
  • Deadline calculations are computed from the rules and dates you supply. Check them against the rules of the court seized of the matter before relying on them.

Acceptable use

You may not use PractoCore to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to upload malware. You may not attempt to access another firm's workspace, probe or interfere with the security of the platform, resell or sublicence access, scrape the service in bulk, or use it to build a competing product. You may not use the assistant to generate material you know to be false and intend to pass off as authentic.

Subscriptions, fees and billing

  • PractoCore is sold as a subscription, priced per seat and billed in Ugandan Shillings unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • AI usage is metered. Your plan includes an allowance; usage beyond it is charged at the rates shown in the application.
  • Subscriptions renew for successive terms until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the term already paid for.
  • Fees are exclusive of any tax that applies to them.
  • If payment fails, we may restrict access after notice to the account administrator. We will not delete your data solely because an invoice is unpaid.

Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep PractoCore available and will give notice of planned maintenance where we reasonably can. We may add, change or withdraw features as the product develops; where a change materially reduces a feature your firm relies on, we will tell account administrators before it takes effect. Some features are released as beta or early access and are labelled as such in the application — those are provided as they are, and may change or be withdrawn without notice.

The Word and Outlook add-ins

The Microsoft Word and Outlook add-ins are part of the PractoCore service and are covered by these terms. They require a PractoCore account to do anything useful. Your use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Microsoft 365 themselves is governed by your agreement with Microsoft, not by us; we are not responsible for the Office host application or for changes Microsoft makes to it.

Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached in a way that is serious or not put right after notice, if required by law, or if an account is being used in a way that endangers the platform or other users.

On termination you may export your data for 30 days, after which it is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

Warranties and liability

PractoCore is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free or that AI output will be accurate.

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings. Our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees paid by your firm for the service in that period.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims brought by a third party arising from content you upload to PractoCore or from your use of the service in breach of these terms, except to the extent the claim arises from our own breach.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, and the courts of Uganda have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Before commencing proceedings, each party will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute by discussion.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms and will update the date at the top when we do. For material changes we will give account administrators notice before they take effect; continuing to use PractoCore after that constitutes acceptance. Questions go to contact@practocore.com.
